State funding Wi-Fi on private commuter bus services in Tasmania

Tranzwatching in Tasmania, Australia

Wi-fi access, at a cost of $12,000 per bus, is being implemented on a range of privately operated commuter bus services heading tofro Hobart and Launceston each working day.  Funding from a Passenger Transport Innovation Fund, allocated in Tasmania's State Government  budget last year,  is being used to trial the concept. The service will be set to the same monitor controls as used to supply wi-fi to schools.
